Walking through the San Bartolomé neighborhood, one of the main arteries of the ancient Jewish quarter of Seville, we came across this beautiful architectural specimen from the early 20th century, created by the brilliant Aníbal González, who is also the author of other spaces like the Plaza de España in Seville. This building was commissioned by the Countess of Ibarra for her husband, the Count of Ibarra, between the years 1912 and 1913, framed within his characteristic regionalist style, where the architect aesthetically combines brick, typically Sevillian tiles with Islamic reminiscences, and asymmetric arrangements of windows and decorations. Its façade, dressed in tiles and brick, invites us to explore a restored palace house as of April 2022, which preserves, from its origin, the entrance hall, the façade, as well as the tiles and lamps in its interior.
